The Multilateral Seminar “Applications, Tools, and Perspectives of AI in Education” held in Patras, Greece from May 10-12, 2024, was designed to help secondary school teachers integrate AI tools and technologies into their classrooms and eTwinning projects. The event aimed at both beginners and intermediate participants in eTwinning, focusing on practical applications of AI to enhance educational processes. Participants gained insights into using AI for educational data management, dynamic student assessment, and enhancing creativity and collaboration in eTwinning projects. The seminar emphasized the importance of personalized learning through AI and explored the potential of AI to create engaging and efficient educational experiences.

The opening Speech: Delivered by Panagiotis Passas, Director General for International and European Affairs at the Hellenic Ministry of Education. The Keynote Speech: “Intelligent educational data management – The unsupervised learning approach” was delivered by Prof. Cleo Sgouropoulou from the University of West Attica.

The event also featured interactive sessions where teachers used their devices (laptops, tablets) to engage with AI tools and applications. The workshops provided hands-on experience with AI tools like Study Buddy and Teacher Workmate from the Erasmus+ AI4EDU project, focusing on creating customized teaching materials and dynamic student assessments.

  • Workshop Session I (9:30 – 11:00):
  • Group 1 (Amphitheater): “Artificial Intelligence Applications in Education for eTwinning Projects” led by Adil Tugyan and Ertan Kocabaş.
  • Group 2 (Room 1.II.8): “Discovery Space: Artificial Intelligence as a Tool for Dynamic Student Assessment” led by Dimitris Koulentianos.
  • Group 3 (Room 0.I.6): “AI4EDU: Practical AI Applications for a more Attractive and Efficient Educational Process” led by Gregory Milopoulos.
  • Workshop Session II (11:30 – 13:00): The groups and their respective sessions from Workshop I rotated.
  • Workshop Session III (14:00 – 15:30): The same rotation continued, ensuring that participants could attend all sessions.
