On April 12, 2025, we participated in the 14th Panhellenic Conference for Science Education and New Technologies in Thessaloniki, Greece. As part of the conference program, we hosted an interactive workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Education: Applications and Tools for Supporting Educators,” showcasing the AI4EDU project and demonstrating our two AI-powered applications for teaching and learning: TeacherMate and StudyBuddy.
The workshop brought together 8 in-service teachers, 5 pre-service teachers, and 1 researcher, who actively engaged with the AI4EDU applications. Participants explored the creation of lesson plans, tests, quizzes, and teaching materials, while discovering the diverse functionalities offered by the two tools.
During the session, Marios Papaevripidou and Theodoros Karafyllidis presented AI4EDU’s vision of empowering teachers and students across Europe with the skills, resources, and confidence needed to engage meaningfully with Artificial Intelligence in education.
The workshop concluded with an open discussion, highlighting the crucial importance of combining technological innovation with comprehensive teacher training to ensure the ethical, effective, and inclusive integration of AI into real educational settings.
