At the 6th Barcelona Conference on Education, we’re presenting:
“Enhancing teaching and learning with conversational AI agents: Pilot testing and impact assessment in real classroom settings.”
This work explores the educational impact of our conversational AI assistants Teacher Mate and Study Buddy ,tested in real classrooms in Cyprus and Greece.
Key results:
- Students showed improvements in knowledge acquisition, as measured by the topic-specific pre- and post-tests.
- Benefits were most prominent in classrooms where the use of Study Buddy was integrated into structured activities, rather than being used as a stand-alone support tool at home.
- The tools were most effective when embedded within teacher-led pedagogical frameworks that provided context, scaffolding, and opportunities for reflection.
