CPI (Nicosia, CY) is a National Public Body responsible for the in-service training and the professional development of teachers at all levels and all posts

It organises and delivers in-service training for all  subjects and cross subject areas, educational technology, educational research and also school-based development. More specifically, CPI’s activities include: a) in-service training to teachers of all levels, with various compulsory programs and optional seminars, b) planning and implementation of educational research and evaluation studies, c) monitoring and documentation of the current trends in Pedagogy, d) promotion and adoption of ICT in Education, e) writing and publishing books of educational interest, design and production of teaching materials, and publication of textbooks for schools. CPI has a devoted Department of Educational Technology, which implements programmes of continuing professional development in the areas of information and communication technologies (ICT) research and practice, proposes new educational implementations and promotes innovations related to the use of new technologies in education. At the same time, it provides pedagogical and technical support facilitating the effective use of ICT. The Department runs several National and EU-funded projects, aiming: to support teachers in acquiring basic and specific skills in the use of ICT through workshops and seminars; to promote the integration of ICT in the teaching and learning process; to provide online learning environments (synchronous and asynchronous) and educational software repositories; to investigate use cases on the integration of ICT in the learning process; to organise conferences, workshops and seminars on the integration of ICT in education; to provide and sustain web portals with educational material; to provide educational and technical support to participants in the programmes organised by the CPI.

 

PARTNER ROLE:

 CPI, as a public body highly active in the development and implementation of education policies targeting the adoption of ICT in education, responsible to propose new implementations that promote educational innovations, will be heavily engaged in WP7, as well as in piloting and evaluation activities in Cyprus and in the dissemination and communication activities of AI4EDU outputs.
