The Global Hands-On Universe (GHOU) 2024 conference took place from September 24th to 27th, 2024, focusing on astronomy, development, and education. The conference featured a wide range of sessions that fostered collaboration among innovators, educators, researchers, and government authorities. The theme of game-based learning is tied into the broader objective of providing cutting-edge, accessible education through technology. Dr. Ó Murchú’s talk was positioned within the third session of the conference on September 25th, along with other workshops and roundtable discussions exploring topics such as climate action, light pollution, and robotic telescope

His keynote, “Game-Based Learning, Astronomine, and 21st Century Teaching and Learning: A Creative, Conscious, and Captivating Journey”  underscored the evolving role of technology, particularly AI and game-based learning, in creating a more engaging and dynamic educational environment for the 21st century. It provided practical examples for educators to integrate these tools effectively in classrooms and inspired future innovations in STEM learning.
