The 4th AI4EDU project meeting, hosted by the Drumcondra Education Centre (DEC) in Dublin, Ireland, at the 18th and 19th of June 2024. The two-day agenda included work package updates, school visits, discussions on usability testing and educational impact, and planning for the dissemination of results. The meeting facilitated both in-person and online participation, fostering collaboration and setting actionable goals.

The first day began with a warm welcome by Dr. Helen Heneghan, Director of DEC, followed by discussions on WP1 focusing on progress reports and updates related to project milestones. WP4 discussions centered on the usability and technology acceptance of AI tools, including pilot testing results and deliverable preparations. A highlight was the visit to a multicultural school where students aged 10-12 used AI tools, providing valuable feedback observed by project members. Afternoon sessions revisited WP5, emphasizing debugging priorities, integration of schoolbooks, and adding functionalities based on pilot feedback. The day concluded with a collaborative dinner.

The second day began with a recap of the first day’s discussions. WP1 updates addressed financial and administrative progress, while WP6 explored evaluation methodologies for educational impact, proposing experiments tailored to diverse educational settings. WP7 and WP8 sessions emphasized the integration of findings into policy recommendations and dissemination plans, highlighting upcoming workshops and conferences. The meeting concluded with a summary of key activities, next steps, and action points, including finalizing deliverables and planning for the next gathering in Athens.
