On October 5, 2024, Vassilis Katsouros, the coordinator of the AI4EDU project from ARC, participated in a panel discussion titled “AI at Work: Paving Out Avenues Through Which AI Will Enhance the Human Element, Rather Than Replace It.”

This discussion was part of the Alternative Stage segment at the TEDxAthens event. The panel focused on how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to amplify human capabilities rather than replace them, and Vassilis Katsouros was invited to share insights specifically related to advancements in AI for education.

Dr. Katsouros highlighted the latest developments in generative AI (Gen AI) and its applications within educational settings. The audience, consisting of approximately 400 people, was also introduced to AI4EDU’s activities and its recent milestones. Dr Katsouros provided a detailed overview of how these technologies are being integrated into classrooms through the AI4EDU project, which aims to foster the use of AI as a tool to support both students and educators. Dr. Katsouros discussed the practical outcomes and results achieved through AI4EDU, emphasizing how generative AI can personalize learning experiences, make educational content more accessible, and improve efficiency in instructional design. These advancements, he argued, have the potential to reshape the learning landscape by making education more adaptive to the needs of individual learners.
